Today was spent on the road traveling to Yosemite National Park. After having a good breakfast in the hotel, we immediately hit the road so that we could arrive at the lodge before sunset. With the road to the lodge being long and winding and a warning that GPS reception may be spotty, we decided it was best not to risk trying to find our way around after dark.
We stayed at the Evergreen Lodge which turned out to be a great choice. They lived up to everything presented in their brochure and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. With it being the end of the season we were able to get a great rate and the lodge has a terrific location, just a short drive away from the entrance to the park. Due to the remote location there is no cell service, but the lodge provides use of their phone and satellite based Internet service, which isn't exactly high-speed, but it does allow you to keep in contact with the outside world. The lodge also features a gourmet restaurant, which is a good thing as there's nothing else around for miles.
